Para mi exposición, quería mostrar un grupo de fotos que he tomado a lo largo de los años viviendo en Inglaterra. Cuando me voy de vacaciones o incluso paseando por Londres, me encanta tomar fotografías de paisajes, ya que me encanta capturar la belleza de los lugares.
Especialmente me encanta tomar fotografías de Londres, ya que es el lugar donde crecí. Vine a Londres cuando tenía 3 años con mi familia para buscar una vida mejor. Al crecer en Londres, puedes ver las posibilidades que te ofrece el lugar. Me encantaría trabajar en tecnología, así que Londres es un lugar especial para mí porque cuando tomo fotografías de paisajes, veo una ciudad con muchas posibilidades.
Antes de esto, quería mostrar imágenes de cómo Covid-19 ha impactado en Londres, pero creo que es importante no centrarse en los aspectos negativos sino en los positivos. Por eso, para mi exposición, he decidido mostrar fotografías de paisajes que he tomado a lo largo de los años y que muestran las partes hermosas de Inglaterra
For my exhibition, I wanted to showcase a group of photos that I have taken over the years in living in England. When I go on holidays or even walking by London, I love taking landscape photos as I love capturing the beauty of places.
I especially love taking pictures of London as it’s the place I grew up. I came to London when I was 3 with my family to seek a better life. Growing up in London you can see the possibilities the place can offer you. I would love to work in technology so London is a special place for me because when I take pictures of landscapes, I see a city a of possibilities.
Before this I wanted to show pictures of how Covid-19 has impacted London but I think is important to not focus on the negatives but focus in the positives. That’s why for my exhibition I have decided to showcase pictures of landscapes I have taken over the years and showing the beautiful parts of England.
LONDON
Tomé esta foto de camino a casa. Durante mi caminata a casa vi la puesta de sol detrás del espectacular Shard. Tenía muchas ganas de capturar la belleza de la puesta de sol y la magnífica arquitectura tanto del puente como del Shard.
I took this picture on my way home. During my walk home I saw the sunset set behind the spectacular Shard. I really wanted to capture the beauty of the sunset and the magnificent architecture of both the bridge and the Shard.
Las siguientes fotos fueron tomadas desde Tate Modern. Fui con mi amigo de la escuela después de que acabamos de dar una presentación a una empresa de ingeniería en ese momento. Fuimos a un lugar de Tate Modern donde hay un balcón para tomar fotografías. Desde diferentes ángulos puedes ver diferentes cosas como Blackfriars Bridge, London Bridge y St Pauls Cathedral. Tomar fotos como estas me calma y me llena de alegría, ya que puedes ver un cielo casi perfecto brillando el cual es increíble tomar con la cámara.
The following photos were taken from Tate Modern. I went with my friend from school after we had just finished giving a presentation to an engineering business at the time. We went to a place at the Tate Modern where there is a balcony to take pictures. From different angles you can do different things like Blackfriars Bridge, London Bridge and St Paul’s Cathedral. Taking pictures like these makes me feel calm and fills me with joy as you can see an almost perfect sky shine across which was amazing to take on camera.
BRISTOL
Este es un puente que tomé durante mis vacaciones en Bristol llamado Clifton Suspension Bridge. Tomé esta foto mientras regresábamos a nuestra cabaña. Fue una hermosa noche donde mi familia y yo estábamos mirando las hermosas luces del puente. Fue un momento tan maravilloso en el que cuando subimos a la cima de la colina, vimos las luces brillando y la hermosa naturaleza de Bristol. Fue un momento tan hermoso con toda mi familia, reunidos en un momento de calma y relajación. Esto también se tomó en el verano de 2020, por lo que fue maravilloso ver un momento de naturaleza y arquitectura.
This is a bridge I took on holiday in Bristol called the Clifton Suspension Bridge. I took this photo while we are on our way back to our cottage. It was a beautiful night where it was me and my family looking at the beautiful lights of the bridge. It was such a wonderful moment where when we climbed at the top of the hill, we saw the lights shining and the beautiful nature of Bristol. It was such a beautiful moment with all my family together having a calm and relaxing time. This was also taken in the summer of 2020 so it was wonderful to see a moment of nature and architecture.
BATH
Otra cosa sobre mí es que disfruto mucho aprendiendo sobre la historia de los lugares que descubro. Uno de los lugares a los que fui el verano pasado es Bath. Bath tiene una rica historia en sus edificios y baños romanos. La primera imagen es la abadía de Bath, construida en el siglo XII. Otro tipo de fotografía que me encanta tomar es la arquitectura, especialmente si es histórica.
Another thing about me is that I really enjoy learning about the history of a place that I discover. One of the places I went last summer is Bath. Bath has a rich history of its buildings and Roman-built baths. The first picture is Bath abbey which was built in the 12th century. Another type of picture I love to take is architecture, especially if it’s historic.
Esta es otra imagen de otro lugar histórico en Bath. Es la imagen de un edificio llamado The Circus que se construyó en 1754. Estas dos fotos también fueron tomadas en el verano de 2020 y me encanta la historia que cada edificio cuenta y la historia que cada uno tiene. La abadía fue construida durante la era sajona como lugar de culto. Ha cambiado a lo largo de los años debido a la Segunda Guerra Mundial, pero ahora se erige como un lugar de visita y culto. The Circus es otro ejemplo de la arquitectura georgiana que permanece en pie hasta el día de hoy. Cuando fui a Bath, fue como el recordatorio del pasado y la evolución de la humanidad que necesitamos en este momento.
This is another picture of another historic place in Bath. Its picture of a building called the circus which was built in 1754. These two photos combined were also taken in the summer of 2020 and love the story that each building tells and the history each brings out. The abbey was built during the Saxon era for a place of worship. It has changed throughout the years due to WW2 but now it stands as a place of visit and worship. The circus is another example of Georgian architecture which remains standing till this day. When I went to Bath, it was like a reminder of the past and the evolution of humanity which we need a reminder of at this time.
